Service Credit Union is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist who will play a dual role in strengthening Service Credit Union’s presence and impact across the communities we serve. This position is responsible for building and managing strategic community partnerships, coordinating impactful events, and executing measurable financial education initiatives. As a visible ambassador of the Service CU brand, the specialist collaborates with internal departments and external partners to support member growth, promote financial well-being, and build long-term advocacy.
Pay: $25.60, flexible based on experience.

The Day to Day:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with chambers of commerce, nonprofit leaders, and community stakeholders across the stateside footprint.
- Plan and execute Service CU-sponsored events, coordinating staff and volunteers as needed.
- Manage charitable sponsorships, promotional giveaways, and track related budgets.
- Coordinate use of community spaces (e.g., exhibits, events) at corporate headquarters.
- Represent Service CU at community events and meetings, nonprofit functions, and chamber events, including ones on nights and weekends.
- Provide post-event evaluations including metrics such as press coverage, member engagement, and social media performance.
- financial education and the newest innovations and vendors. Keep management informed.
- Deliver financial literacy presentations tailored to specific audiences such as students, military members, seniors, and underserved groups.
- Manage financial education content using partner resources, digital tools, and marketing automation platforms like Marketo.
- Oversee Credit Union Youth Month initiatives and promotions, including giveaways, collateral, and reporting.
- Manage youth program materials and promotional items.
- Maintain youth club budget and support creative marketing for youth-focused activities.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Community Relations and AVP of Community Development to develop annual strategies, calendars, and performance goals.
- Track, analyze, and report on program performance using both qualitative and quantitative measures.
- Support the execution of corporate initiatives, including annual meetings, internal campaigns, and community storytelling.
- Ensure alignment with brand guidelines and credit union policies at all times.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Education, or related field.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience with event planning, community outreach, and volunteer coordination.
- Prior experience in marketing, education, or financial services.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must be comfortable driving a minivan.
- Ability to travel to other work locations as required.
- Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds.
- Familiarity with digital platforms, marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo), and content development.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage diverse age groups.
- Creative, adaptable, and comfortable being a brand ambassador in various settings.
- Teaching, coaching, or financial literacy education background preferred.
- Experience working in or with credit unions is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial wellness frameworks (e.g., CFSI segmentation methods), preferred.
Service Credit Union and its employees are required by federal regulations to comply with anti-money laundering laws and initiatives, including the Bank Secrecy Act and regulations promulgated by the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Training will be provided to all credit union employees on compliance with these regulations. As a condition of employment, all employees must certify that they have received the training provided by Service Credit Union and understand that they are required to comply as a condition of employment with these regulations.
