Job summary

Purdue University’s Network for Computational Nanotechnology (NCN) seeks a Community Engagement & Program Support Manager to grow and coordinate NCN’s user and partner communities. This role develops communications, outreach materials, and campaigns and supports access requests, user support, and partner interactions across multiple programs.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, tech-savvy, and able to translate complex scientific topics for varied audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, Business, Science, Engineering, Technology or related field.
• Two+ years of experience in communications, marketing, community engagement, program support, professional writing, graphic design or related area.
• Experience developing professional digital and/or print communications, such as newsletters, presentations, web content, promotional materials, or marketing campaigns.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate with diverse stakeholders, and work independently.
• Strong written communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
• Comfort learning and using web-based systems, CRM platforms, and other technology tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to research, distill, and communicate complex technical or scientific information clearly to varied audiences.
• Ability to interact effectively with scientific users, faculty, students, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder and community relationships.
• Ability to develop engaging communications and outreach materials across digital, print, web, email, and social media channels.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Comfort learning new technologies, systems, and processes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate communications, marketing, and outreach activities that promote NCN programs, capabilities, opportunities, and impact.
• Find noteworthy stories for effective Public Relations initiatives and manage newsletters, email campaigns, web and social content, webinars, and other outreach materials.
• Maintain strong relationships with Purdue units, program partners, users, and other external stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders and programs and support community-facing programs, access requests, user support, and meetings.
