Job summary

AID of Indiana is seeking Community Engagement staff in Muncie, IN to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in family homes and in the community. The role runs 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with potential 10-hour shifts and travel between multiple families.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, teaching life skills, and coordinating transportation and activities to promote independence.

Seeking: Community Engagement staff to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their family homes and out in the community.

Hours: 8am-4pm Mon-Fri

Community engagement staff may work up to 10 hour shifts per the family's schedule. Shifts may be scheduled any day of the week. You may work with multiple families, and driving from one home to the next is possible. Tasks depend on the Services the family qualifies for, eg: Respite services, PAC services, DHI Services, and Transportation.

Training: All training and certification is provided and paid for by AID of Indiana. And you’ll be on the clock as soon as you start training!

Pay: $16.25/hr

Locations: We have offices in Fort Wayne and Muncie, but provide services to individuals throughout Indiana. Available positions vary based on location.

Skills Required:

Compassionate, reliable, and can work independently. Assisting the client with "light" house cleaning, prepping meals, going out into the community for activities, teaching life skills. Can potentially include helping with ADLs (activities of daily living), which includes; bathing, dressing, and other hygiene tasks.
