Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator to help advance the Providence 02905 Health Equity Zone. You will support leadership, engage residents and partners, organize HEZ meetings, and help build sustainable collaborations for healthier communities.

The role emphasizes relationship building, data collection, and coordinating outreach activities, with some evenings and weekend work as needed. FSRI emphasizes equity and community impact.

Qualifications

• Formal education or relevant certification in community engagement.
• Critical thinking, creativity and flexibility in changing priorities; attention to detail.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience building relationships with community partners.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative; prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to travel within the community and occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Director in leadership of Providence 02905 HEZ collaborative.
• Engage community support; manage partnerships and recruit stakeholders.
• Provide meeting organization and facilitation for the initiative.
• Coordinate work group meetings; develop strategies and action plans.
• Ensure activities align with goals and attend related RIDOH meetings.
• Assist with reports and correspondence; maintain data and files.
• Build relationships with funders and partners; seek funding sources for sustainability.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
