THE POSITION:

The Community Engagement Manager is a member of STACK's Public Affairs team responsible for supporting community engagement across STACK's U.S. data center development portfolio. Serving as a public-facing representative of the company, this role builds relationships with community stakeholders, manages engagement activities for assigned projects and markets, and helps ensure local questions and concerns are understood and addressed throughout the development process. The Manager works closely with Site Strategy, Development, Construction, Legal, Communications, and other cross-functional partners to align community engagement with project objectives and established team responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage community engagement activities for assigned projects and markets, including open houses, town halls, public meetings, stakeholder briefings, informational sessions, and other community engagement events. Represent STACK as a visible, professional point of contact for community members, civic and neighborhood organizations, local officials, and other stakeholders, including on projects facing public scrutiny or opposition, while maintaining composure and a constructive tone. Build and sustain positive working relationships with community stakeholders, civic organizations, local officials, and other key stakeholders in coordination with Public Affairs leadership and relevant project teams. Develop market- and project-specific community engagement plans in partnership with Public Affairs leadership and cross-functional teams, and manage the logistics, materials, and execution required for key engagement milestones. Research community concerns, stakeholder priorities, local issues, and public sentiment to anticipate questions, identify emerging issues, and inform project-specific engagement strategies and messaging. Gather, synthesize, and communicate community feedback, emerging concerns, and stakeholder priorities to internal project teams, helping inform engagement strategy and project decision-making. Prepare presentations, talking points, FAQs, briefing materials, and other communications that translate complex or technical project information into clear, accessible content for community and stakeholder audiences. Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions, community feedback, commitments, follow-through and outstanding concerns, coordinating with internal owners to support timely follow-through and consistent reporting. Identify emerging community issues and reputational risks and escalating material concerns to Public Affairs leadership and relevant project teams. Partner with Development, Site Strategy, Legal, Communications, Construction, and Public Affairs colleagues to maintain trackers, reporting tools, and internal updates related to community engagement and project status.

DETAILS:

Location: Denver (US), with regular local travel for events. Travel: Moderate. Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Leave Programs. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must pass comprehensive background and drug screening. Compensation Range: $72,000.00 - $79,000.00

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in communications, public policy, political science, urban planning, or a related discipline. 3+ years of relevant professional experience in community relations, public affairs, local government, community engagement, land use and development, nonprofit or civic engagement, or a related field. Experience or demonstrated interest in data centers, energy, infrastructure, real estate development, utilities, transportation, renewable energy, industrial development, or other industries involving significant local stakeholder engagement is preferred. Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the composure to represent the company positively in front of skeptical or unhappy audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex or technical information into clear, accessible materials for community and stakeholder audiences. Sound judgment and situational awareness, with the ability to assess stakeholder dynamics, adapt communications to different audiences, and recognize when issues require escalation or additional internal coordination. High emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure or public criticism. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, stakeholders, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Familiarity with local government processes, land use and development processes, community organizations, or public engagement practices is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint; experience preparing presentations, briefing materials, or other public-facing communications is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive or contentious project information with discretion and tact. Ability to travel up to 40% to STACK project markets for community events, partner meetings, and project-related engagements, including occasional evening meetings as required.
