Job summary

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE (STACK) seeks an Economic Partnerships Associate to support its Public Affairs team in coordinating economic development incentives and partnerships across the portfolio. You will research incentives, compile documentation, and track milestones with Site Strategy and other teams.

You’ll prepare briefs, manage information flow with government and utility partners, and help maintain dashboards and reporting tools to ensure timely decisions and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, public policy, political science, real estate, or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in economic development, government, consulting, real estate, finance, tax, infrastructure, or related field.
  • Experience or interest in data centers, energy, infrastructure, or real estate development preferred.
  • Strong research and organizational skills to review and summarize tax, incentive, policy, and project information for cross-functional decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Public Affairs with economic development incentive reviews across STACK’s portfolio, coordinating with Site Strategy and cross-functional partners.
  • Research market- and site-specific incentives, tax structures, grants, workforce programs, and public-sector tools relevant to data center projects.
  • Coordinate information and documentation for incentive applications, negotiations, and project milestones under Public Affairs guidance.
  • Engage with state/local economic development organizations, government agencies, utilities, and external partners per Public Affairs direction.
  • Prepare presentations and briefing materials for internal discussions on incentive opportunities and project status.
  • Maintain project records, trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools with cross-functional teams for visibility and compliance.
  • Contribute to special projects and market research requested by Public Affairs.

THE POSITION:

The Economic Partnerships Associate will support STACK’s Public Affairs team in coordinating economic development incentives and partnership-related work across the company’s portfolio. The role will work closely with Site Strategy and other cross-functional teams to provide research, organization, documentation, tracking, and communications support that helps advance projects while maintaining alignment with established team responsibilities and decision-making processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Public Affairs with economic development incentive reviews across STACK’s portfolio, in coordination with Site Strategy and other cross-functional partners.
  • Research market- and site-specific economic development incentives, tax structures, grants, workforce programs, infrastructure programs, and other public-sector tools that may be relevant to new and existing data center development.
  • Coordinate information and documentation for incentive applications, negotiations, agreements, approvals, and other project milestones under the direction of Public Affairs and in alignment with relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Help manage engagement with state and local economic development organizations, government agencies, utilities, and other external partners at the direction of Public Affairs and in collaboration with Site Strategy and other internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and other communications for internal discussions regarding incentive opportunities, project status, and economic development initiatives.
  • Work with STACK’s Development, Site Strategy, Tax, Finance, Legal, Utility, Construction, and Public Affairs teams to maintain project records, trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools to support visibility into active opportunities, existing commitments, compliance obligations, and upcoming deadlines.
  • Contribute to special projects, market research, and other strategic initiatives requested by Public Affairs leadership and coordinated with relevant internal teams.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, public policy, political science, real estate, or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience; experience in economic development, government, consulting, real estate, finance, tax, infrastructure, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in data centers, energy, infrastructure, real estate development, or related industries is preferred.
  • Strong research and organizational skills, with comfort reviewing and summarizing tax, incentive, policy, and project-related information in support of cross-functional decision-making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information into clear materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and tracking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience maintaining trackers, dashboards, or project reporting tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with state and local government processes, economic development organizations, or public-sector incentives is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive project information with discretion.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (<15%) for site visits, partner meetings, or project-related engagements as needed.

Compensation Range: $89,000.00 - $99,000.00
