Job summary

City of Mableton is seeking a temporary Community Relations Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison between residents and the Mayor’s Office. You will build relationships with neighborhood groups, businesses, schools, and faith-based organizations, and attend public forums to represent city leadership.

You will respond to inquiries, coordinate outreach programs, and help increasing citizen participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 3 years in community relations, public affairs, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the community and the Mayor’s Office.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, neighborhood associations, civic groups, businesses, and residents.
• Attend community meetings, public forums, civic events, and neighborhood gatherings as a representative of the Mayor’s Office.
• Receive, track, and respond to citizen inquiries, concerns, complaints, and service requests.
• Coordinate community outreach programs, town hall meetings, and public engagement initiatives.
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase citizen participation and community involvement.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and briefing materials related to community concerns and initiatives.
• Monitor community issues, trends, and concerns and provide recommendations to the Mayor and executive staff.
• Work with Public Relations, Communications, and other teams to promote city programs, services, events through engagement efforts.
• Collaborate with local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and businesses to strengthen community partnerships.
