Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals Bellevue seeks a Community Liaison to support housing development and community programs, coordinating between City agencies, residents, and community organizations.

Under direction, you will interview residents, assist in outreach, and help plan and implement programs while mentoring staff and preparing reports. This role is essential for strengthening community health initiatives and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time experience in counseling, community work or community health activities in a government agency or community organization engaged in providing community services to the public.
• Preference will be given to applicants with at least a high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization.

Responsibilities

• Interviews local residents, landlords, government personnel, business people and youths to solicit support for community development programs, to ascertain needs of communities and to determine courses of action to meet those needs which are acceptable to the communities.
• Interviews staff and representatives of governmental, educational, and social agencies and unions for the purposes of securing information for and transmitting information from community organizations and residents.
• Assists in the preparation and distribution of informational materials relating to the programs, objectives, and activities of both communities and educational institutions.
• Assists in the training of subordinate staff.
• Makes written and oral reports as required.
• Keeps records related to programs, activities, objectives, etc.
