New H.O.P.E CDC is seeking a motivated and community‑minded Community Engagement Intern to support the development of a charter school by assisting with outreach initiative and engagement efforts during a summer internship sponsored by Atlantic Union Bank. This internship provides hands‑on experience in nonprofit community development, communications, event coordination, and relationship‑building while contributing to meaningful initiatives that positively impact local communities. The internship is fully grant‑funded for the 8‑week duration, offering participants professional development opportunities and practical experience in community engagement and nonprofit operations.
The internship operates in a hybrid setting, with most duties completed virtually and occasional in‑person participation for meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, and special events. Interns should be comfortable working independently in a remote setting while maintaining regular communication with supervisors and team members through email, virtual meetings, and collaborative platforms.
