Job summary

Harris County Emergency Services District 11 is seeking an Engagement Coordinator to coordinate community outreach, education and public relations initiatives. You will organize events, manage staffing and logistics, develop outreach materials and serve as a liaison for community partners and organizations.

You will collaborate with the PIO, HR and operations to support engagement efforts, track outcomes and assist with planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher with 3 years of related experience; education may substitute for experience.
• EMT program completion and Texas certification preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
• AHA CPR instructor certification required.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Highly organized with ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound judgment, critical thinking and timely decision making.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; produce professional materials.
• Must not be excluded by the OIG from federally funded programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support community outreach, education and PR initiatives.
• Plan and staff community events, manage logistics, and coordinate with departments.
• Develop outreach materials and serve as liaison with community partners.
• Partner with PIO to promote initiatives through social media and communications.
• Create newsletters, calendars, flyers, graphics and other event materials.
• Coordinate recruitment outreach with HR, EMT schools and career fairs.
• Track participation, expenses and outcomes to inform future planning.
• Maintain outreach budgets and records for events and projects.
• Manage supplies, inventory and reorders of outreach materials.
• Coordinate and support advocacy campaigns and policy initiatives.
• Maintain ongoing communication with PIO and district staff regarding events and status.

Education

Associate degree in business management or related field

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR instructor certification

Maintains current Texas Driver’s License

OIG exclusions check

EMT Basic/Intermediate/Paramedic program (preferred)
