Job summary

SEEC is a progressive nonprofit agency in Maryland seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities in community settings. You will implement Person Centered Plans, build monthly schedules, and coordinate resources for meaningful activities.

You will travel across Montgomery County as a floater, using a personal vehicle when needed, and assist with transportation, daily documentation, and collaboration with families and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting people to achieve personal goals.
• Strong analytical and mentoring abilities to support personal development.
• Willing to learn and use technology such as cell phones, iPhone apps, photos, videos, laptops.
• Must be willing to travel across Montgomery County as a floater, with a personal vehicle preferred.
• Work across diverse environments and assist with daily activities including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implement Person Centered Plans to help individuals achieve outcomes and direct their lives.
• Create monthly schedules including employment, learning, volunteering, and activities; coordinate resources.
• Provide personal care, behavioral, safety, and transportation assistance as needed.
• Document daily progress and schedule changes; communicate with team and families.
• Attend trainings and adapt to new tools and support methods; help with job/activity tasks.
