Job summary

AbleLight in Englewood, CO seeks a Community Life Coach to help people with developmental disabilities connect to their communities through activities, events, and volunteer opportunities. You assess skills, implement service plans, and facilitate involvement within the community to enrich lives.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to lift 50 pounds, valid driver’s license, and completion of internal training. We offer comprehensive benefits and Dayforce Wallet access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and able to use electronic charting programs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Must complete Community Life Coach training upon hire.
• Clear background check as defined by regulations and policies.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform daily standing, bending and lifting.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relations with local businesses and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Identify community resources and activities aligned with participants' interests and skills.
• Facilitate participation in community events, activities, and organizations in the participant’s neighborhood.
• Foster connections between participants and people without disabilities to increase social capital.
• Accompany participants to activities and facilitate involvement.
• Communicate progress and challenges to guardians/care providers as needed.
• Ensure personal safety of participants on caseload.
• Provide support to maintain or enhance personal independence.
• Provide attendant care or other supports as necessary.
