Job summary

Permian Resources is seeking a Sr. Staff Reservoir Engineer in Midland, Texas to lead reservoir studies and support development of Delaware Basin assets.

You will perform economic analyses, rate transient and decline curve analyses, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize value. The role requires 7+ years of oil and gas experience, 4+ years in reservoir engineering, and strong communication skills to present findings to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Description: Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Sr. Staff Reservoir Engineer reporting to the Reservoir Engineering Manager in Midland, Texas. This is a high visibility position that will be responsible for providing reservoir engineering support for a variety of projects (as detailed below). The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities
  • Work with multidisciplinary team to generate and execute a development plan that maximizes the value of PR’s Delaware Basin Assets
  • Provide reservoir engineering support and guidance on multidisciplinary field/well studies with a specific focus on economic analysis supported by rate transient analysis, decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, etc.
  • Analyze lateral and vertical well spacing across all formations to determine optimal spacing within each proposed development
  • Collaborate with team to analyze completion and production practices that optimize value across acreage position
  • Analyze reservoir fluids and monitor production performance to generate accurate production forecasts for all wells
  • Technical analysis of potential acquisitions, divestitures, and trades and integrate with multidisciplinary team to execute on A & D strategy
  • Work with Corporate Planning and Finance teams to maintain long term budget forecast and update type curve, PDP, and expense forecasts regularly
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering
  • 7+ years of oil and gas engineering experience
  • 4+ years of reservoir engineering experience
  • Must have relevant reservoir engineering experience with unconventional resource plays in the Permian Basin
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of independently integrating and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in ComboCurve, Spotfire and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some operations experience (production, completions, drilling, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Whitson (RTA) and AI platforms such as Claude
  • Experience in NM Delaware Basin on an asset team as a reservoir engineer
