Job summary

Buckner International’s Family Hope Center in San Antonio, TX seeks a Community Coordinator to facilitate, coordinate, and supervise activities and services that support Buckner Ministries. You will raise awareness, liaise with community partners, and empower families through education and outreach programs.

Responsibilities include leading adult education classes (faith and finance, ESL, GED, parenting), coordinating volunteers, and maintaining calendars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
• Minimum two years of prior related experience providing community-based services, crisis assistance, or direct social services.
• Requires proficient knowledge of applicable regulatory standards governing programs and services.
• Ability to observe and assess situations and determine appropriate action.
• Excellent public speaking and professional communication with a multi-ethnic population.
• English proficiency; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources; ability to coordinate with social services and health providers.
• Oversee coordinating adult education programs focusing on financial literacy, parenting, employment soft skills, and spiritual development.
• Willingness to work before/after hours, some nights and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance; 21+ to drive.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all adult empowerment classes, including recruiting and training volunteers to lead classes.
• Lead FHC core classes such as Faith and Finance, Work Life, Jobs for Life, ESL, GED, and Nurturing parenting.
• Implement evidence-based curriculums with fidelity to the Family Hope Center framework.
• Collaborate with community partners to enhance programming and coordinate events.
• Organize FHC events and work with partners to schedule regular community activities.
• Create and host classes/workshops to engage the community with educational programs.
• Recruit participants for the Family Coaching program with Family Coaches.
• Maintain a master calendar of all classes and disseminate notices to staff.
• Coordinate with Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to oversee volunteers.
• Provide leadership and develop action plans using data from curriculums and resources.
