Job summary

Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Boston invites applications for an Employment Specialist. This role guides clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities toward competitive employment, partnering with local employers and adapting supports to individual needs.

The position covers a wide service area in Greater Boston, with in‑person work from our Waltham office and virtual options as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in vocational settings is required.
• Ability to pass First Aid/CPR and have a valid driver’s license with insured vehicle.
• Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case record software (Salesforce).

Responsibilities

• Develop and place clients in community employment with employer partners.
• Conduct vocational assessments and create individualized employment plans.
• Prepare resumes and cover letters; coach on soft skills and interview skills.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and fading supports as needed.
• Maintain case documentation and collaborate with families, DDS, and supports.
