Job summary

JF&CS is hiring an Employment Specialist/Job Coach in Waltham, MA to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in securing and maintaining competitive employment. The role involves coaching clients one-on-one, advocating with employers, and coordinating with families and DDS to ensure successful outcomes.

The position offers full-time hours, a standard 9am-5pm schedule with occasional early evenings, and mileage reimbursement for community-based work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Teaching, Business or related field.
• At least 1 year experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in vocational or community settings.
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other IDD and/or psychiatric conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized employment plans and set vocational goals.
• Network with local employers and community partners to create opportunities.
• Provide on-going job coaching, support, and advocacy for clients.
• Assist with resume and cover letter development and interview prep.
• Coordinate with families, DDS, and other service providers.
