Working Title: Adjunct Faculty

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (accrues overtime)

Position Type: Part‑time/temporary faculty

Pay Information: Salary determined by official transcripts; see the salary schedule.

Department: District Wide

Major Responsibilities

• Teach scheduled classes in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
• Prepare and deliver instruction for lecture and lab classes as assigned.
• Be available to students outside of class to provide academic support.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grading, and progress.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas and uphold professional conduct and ethics.
• Teach all scheduled classes and uphold the standards of quality instruction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant education and experience in the subject area(s) listed below, including but not limited to: Community Education, Accounting, Agriculture, Applied Design, Arts Experimental, Automotive Technology, Consumer Education Management, Chinese, Clothing & Textiles, Construction Crafts Tech, Creative Writing, French, German, Health Education, Hebrew, Interdisciplinary Studies, Investments, Italian, Japanese, Physical Education, Printing/Graphics, Psychology, Russian, Safety Education, Spanish.
• Completion of official transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluations as required.
• For foreign degrees, coursework evaluated by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACIE) member.
• Possession of a California Adult Education Teaching Credential in the designated subject area (if applicable).
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.

Desired Qualifications

• Equivalency documentation submitted for degrees not yet completed.
• Relevant certifications, licenses, or credentials in the subject area.
