Job summary

The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. is hiring a Direct Support Professional to join our Supported Living Program in Woodbridge, VA.

This community-based role provides individualized, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in apartments and townhomes. You will help with daily living skills, transportation, medical appointments, budgeting, and community activities, while following ISPs and maintaining dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; able to operate agency vehicles.
• Ability to complete background checks and health screenings; CPR, First Aid, AED, MAT where applicable.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn THERAP documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coach individuals in developing everyday independent living skills.
• Assist with meal planning, budgeting, shopping, housekeeping, and apartment maintenance.
• Help schedule/attend medical appointments and community activities.
• Support employment, education, volunteering, and recreation opportunities.
• Provide safe transportation to appointments, work, and community events.
• Follow ISPs and nursing protocols; document accurately in THERAP.
