Job summary

Abound Health in Newfoundland, PA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to assist a community resident in a group home. You will help with transportation, daily activities, and staying engaged in the community.

The role requires patience, reliability, and a willingness to build trust over time; driving is required for community outings, with paid training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks and driving record checks.
• Experience with disabilities not required; paid training provided.
• Willingness to work CPS shifts and drive for outings.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to community outings (shopping, movies, church, etc.).
• Encourage social engagement and participation in preferred activities.
• Build rapport with a shy individual who warms up gradually.
• Support navigating community environments safely.
• Promote independence and confidence during outings.
• Communicate with Abound team members and group home staff.
• Complete documentation and participate in ongoing training.
