Job summary

The City of Mediapolis Public Library is seeking a skilled Library Director to lead daily operations, develop engaging programs, and strengthen community ties in Mediapolis, Iowa. You will oversee budgeting, staff supervision, collections, and technology to ensure excellent public service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily library operations, budgeting, recordkeeping, and admin functions.
• Supervise, train, and support staff and volunteers.
• Develop and manage library collections, resources, and technology.
• Plan and deliver programs, events, and educational opportunities for all ages.
• Identify community needs and develop services, partnerships, outreach initiatives.
• Pursue grant funding and manage awarded funds.
• Promote library services via website, social media, marketing, and engagement.
• Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, town officials, and community partners.
• Coordinate facility and equipment maintenance.
• Stay informed about developments and best practices in public library service.
