Job summary

Medina Community Library in rural Texas seeks a hands-on Library Director to lead daily operations, supervise staff and volunteers, and implement Board-approved priorities. The Director will foster a welcoming, inclusive environment and actively engage the community.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the role oversees patron services, collections, programs, grants, budgeting, facilities, and technology. Start is anticipated March 2027, with a transition alongside the current Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MLS/MLIS preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in leadership or library work.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily library operations; supervise staff and volunteers; implement Board policies.
• Manage records, statistics, grants, and reporting; keep the Board informed.
• Oversee purchasing, supplies, vendors, petty cash, and budgets.
