Job description

Volunteers help make the Farm to Table distribution welcoming, efficient, and accurate by assisting with packing, distribution, and participant support.

During Prep (30 minutes)

• Assist with setting up tables and arranging food items for distribution.

During Distribution (2 hours)

• Ensure each household receives the correct amount of each item. Example: 1 pork chop, 2 apple cider, 3–4 apples.
• Mark households off on the clipboard as they pick up.
• Replenish items on the table as needed.
• Provide friendly customer service and answer basic questions.
• Carry boxes to participants’ vehicles as needed.
• Break down boxes and consolidate recyclables.

During Cleanup (30 minutes)

• Assist in cleaning the distribution area.
• Break down remaining boxes and bring recyclables to the designated area.
• Help reset the atrium for regular use.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. or request a non-lifting role.
• Standing, walking, bending, and light physical activity throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualities

• Detail‑oriented to ensure households receive correct quantities.
