Qualifications

• Serv-Safe certified, or willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations and familiarity with other dietary duties.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply principles.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen working area.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure proper cooling and dating of leftovers.
• Assist in staff training and in-services as directed by Dining Services Director.
• Adhere to uniform, hygiene, and safety policies.
