A leading organization is seeking Community Correctional Officers in Vermont. This role involves providing supervision and rehabilitation services to offenders, working closely with law enforcement in potentially high-stress environments. Qualified candidates will hold a relevant degree and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
Community Correctional Officers provide supervision, rehabilitation, and support services to offenders under the supervision of the Probation and Parole Division of the Vermont Department of Corrections. They utilize both risk control and risk management services as part of a supervision team for high-risk offenders. Work is performed in accordance with correctional policies, directives, and procedures under the supervision of an administrative superior.
This position is primarily 2nd shift with potential 3rd shift and weekend work is required.

Prior corrections, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.

As of July 14, 2025, the step 1 rate for pay grade 22 will be $27.06 per hour.

Duties are performed in homes, workplaces, and other locations, including correctional facilities. Work involves working closely with law enforcement in arrest or supervision situations. High stress and potential for physical injury or assault are present. A valid motor vehicle license is required. Overtime and emergency duties are possible, and shift assignments may change.
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social services, or related human services field, OR
Associate's degree with at least one year of relevant experience, OR
High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience. A valid driver's license is required.
Candidates must pass background checks, including criminal record, DMV, and child and adult abuse registry checks, as applicable.
