Job: Senior Laboratory Assistant
Hours: 3:00PM-11:30PM, 24 hours per week
Location: Lancaster, PA
Department: Blood Bank
Position Summary
As outlined in the Essential Functions, duties vary by assigned area. Duties may include: performing waived and moderately complex test procedures, supporting Quality Control and documentation, resulting newborn screens and data entering the results, function verification, instrument maintenance, specimen collection, and clerical work. Patient care includes neonatal (birth to 30 days), pediatric (30 days to 12 years), adolescent (13-18 years), adult (19-64 years), and geriatric (65+ years).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must be able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Laboratory Technician duties fall into one of the following categories/areas:
Micro Immunology-Allergy Testing
Reference Testing (Send-outs)
Point Of Care Testing
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Additional duties include answering phones, managing supplies, participating in weekend/holiday rotations, and other assigned tasks.
