Job summary

The Neighborhood at Decatur is seeking Cooks to join their team. The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director and works Mon-Fri with every other weekend required.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, maintaining sanitation, recording temperatures and production records, and complying with all food safety regulations. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with culinary training and SERV Safe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/ GED required.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• One year of related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Maintains a current SERV Safe certificate or able to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to menus and recipes.
• Maintain sanitation of work areas and comply with safety standards.
• Record temperatures, recipes, portions and production quantities.
• Adhere to production sheets and dietary restrictions as directed.
• Operate dish machines and ensure proper washing and sanitation.
• Monitor quality, taste and presentation of all food items.
• Follow all local, state and federal food handling policies.
