Job summary

Brunswick County is seeking a Community Enforcement Supervisor to oversee the Community Enforcement Division within the Planning and Community Enforcement Department. The role supervises staff, manages enforcement activities, and educates the public to abate complaints regarding Brunswick County Development Ordinances and the Solid Waste Ordinance.

The position reports to the Planning Director and requires a relevant degree with years of enforcement/lead experience, plus a valid NC/SC driver’s

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in planning, engineering, zoning or planning law, public or business administration, or a related field.
Five (5) years of experience with zoning ordinances and/or regulatory enforcement, including at least one (1) year of lead or supervisory responsibility.
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Oversees the operations of the Community Enforcement Division.
Supervises, trains, and supports assigned staff.
Manages enforcement compliance activities and educates to abate complaints.
Reviews complaints and proactively develops solutions to resolve issues under Brunswick County Development Ordinances and the Solid Waste Ordinance.
Provides support to County Attorney, Zoning Administrator, and Planning Director on Community Enforcement matters.
