State of Indiana is seeking a Local Office Director to lead a local office within the Department of Child Services. You will guide staff, shape policy, and collaborate with community partners to advance child welfare outcomes across Indiana.

Strong leadership, budgeting, and communication skills are essential. The role emphasizes building a learning culture, staff development, and ensuring timely permanency for children while maintaining a strong focus on antidiscrimination and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college.
• Four (4) years of experience in child welfare, education, public administration, business administration, or social services and a Bachelor’s degree.
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience in the listed areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of local office operations.
• Establish and interpret policy and objectives to supervisors and staff.
• Interact with the community by attending meetings, serving on committees and boards, and informing the media.
• Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities are understood and provide development opportunities.
• Set expectations, measure progress, and evaluate employee performance, ensuring quality standards and deadlines.
