Job summary

The Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization serving low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social services. The Community Service Coordinator oversees Si Se Puede Community Center programs, supervising residents, volunteers, and student interns, and building partnerships for site programming.

Qualifications

• Preferred - Have at least 48 units of college credit from a two-year accredited college or related experience in Education/Youth Development/Community Services
• Preferably bilingual
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Access) required
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Live scan Fingerprint/background check
• Must provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last 2 years
• A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
• This position does require the individual to commute between sites
• Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain those certifications
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for transportation, set up and conducting activities
• The ability to create partnerships to ensure all site/programming requirements are being met
• Essential Worker Position (This is not a work from home position)

Responsibilities

• Maintain all ethical practices of the Chavez Foundation by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and professionalism
• Manage all Si Se Puede Community Center Programs (Afterschool, Resident Social Services, Meal Distribution, Health and Wellness, Community Outreach)
• Create a welcoming environment within the facility for members and visitors
• Maintain record keeping and compile comprehensive reports
