Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Community Fellow to serve as a welcoming point at the Highwood community center, coordinating meals/pantry, supporting volunteers, and linking clients to resources while upholding dignity and respect.

The role reports to Christ Our Hope Parish (St. James campus) and requires evening hours, light lifting, and strong administrative skills. Full-time with comprehensive benefits includes health, dental, life, PTO, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Minimum: HS Diploma or GED; desire to serve others; ability to navigate input sources and document a clear plan.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong administrative and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and volunteers; maintain a warm, respectful environment; evenings required.
• Coordinate logistics for weekly meals and pantry; manage inventory.
• Connect clients to internal Catholic Charities programs and external resources; support self-sufficiency.
• Collaborate with Volunteer Engagement to recruit and coordinate volunteers.
• Engage in ongoing learning and apply feedback to improve performance.
