The Community Care Supervisor is a shift-based leadership role responsible for providing mobile support, coaching, and real-time intervention across RTC cottages. This role enhances the trauma-informed capacity of the residential team by modeling behavior intervention strategies, coordinating crisis response, and promoting consistent implementation of Individual Crisis Support Plans (ICSPs). In alignment with Little Flower policies and OCFS regulations and best practices, the Community Care Supervisor strengthens staff-youth relationships, reinforces a culture of safety and connection, and fosters a proactive and learning-centered work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, mobile supervision and support to Youth Development Counselors (YDCs) and Shift Supervisors across cottages during assigned shifts.
  • Respond to behavioral escalations and crises by supporting de-escalation, ensuring safety, and facilitating post-incident reflection.
  • Monitor staff interactions and interventions to ensure alignment with trauma-informed principles and youth support plans.
  • Conduct review of critical incidents and provide feedback to improve crisis response utilizing the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model (TCI). Collaborate with Residential Managers and leadership to identify staff training needs and performance trends.
  • Document coaching interventions, incident follow-up, and support provided; report significant concerns to the Director of Residential Operations.
  • Participate in treatment team discussions, staff debriefs, and shift handovers to promote continuity of care and cross-shift alignment. Promote youth voice, respect, and participation in problem-solving and restorative processes, consistent with Little Flower’s values.
  • Serve as Administrator on Duty (AOD) on a rotating basis as needed to coordinate cross-campus staffing and security needs.
  • Support with hiring, disciplinary actions and termination of residential staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in residential care or child welfare settings.
  • Certified or eligible for certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, youth development, and crisis response.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, mentorship, and team-based problem-solving. Excellent verbal communication, conflict resolution, and documentation skills.

Working Conditions

  • On-site, shift-based position with evening and weekend coverage required.
  • Must be available to rotate shifts and support at least one weekend day per month.
  • Participation in on-call or emergency response rotation may be required.
