Dungarvin is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with mental health diagnoses. The role involves helping with daily living activities, personal care, transportation, and community engagement in apartment-like settings.

You will document progress, follow behavior plans as needed, and collaborate with families and care teams.

Competenze

• 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and must be at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes.
• Minimum of three years’ experience with challenging physical and/or verbal aggressions and/or property destruction and/ or self-injurious behaviors.
• Prefer experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Experience working with Mental Health/Illness is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by Dungarvin policy.
• Current auto liability insurance.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Ability to perform personal cares.
• Good communication is key in this role.

• Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
• Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
• Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
