Job summary

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Functional Family Counselor/Social Worker for our Community Based program in Central Ohio. You will advocate for youth and families, conduct diagnostic assessments, and implement systemic, culturally aware interventions to reduce risk factors and support healing.

You’ll schedule therapy sessions, respond to crises, document per standards, and collaborate with treatment teams to ensure continuity of care. Ohio license eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Active Ohio LSW, LPC, or MFT license.
• Experience as social worker, counselor, therapist, or clinician preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients and their families based on developmental needs.
• Collaborate with admissions and engagement and complete comprehensive assessments.
• Implement interventions respecting sociocultural values and family dynamics.
• Intervene considering physical, mental, emotional health and substance history.
• Schedule and conduct therapeutic sessions with individuals and families.
• Take initiatives to manage crisis situations.
• Document activities per OMHAS, Medicaid and Joint Commission standards.
• Provide crisis on-call support as assigned.
• Care for clients within the scope of the position.
• Demonstrate practicality, flexibility, and adaptability in teamwork.
