Job summary

At Peace Health Care is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide Supported Employment services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on helping clients set employment goals, obtain competitive employment, and develop workplace skills in community-based settings.

The position requires strong communication, organization, and relationship-building with employers, families, support coordinators, and team members.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Ability to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with employers.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation when required.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized Supported Employment services based on each individual's ISP, strengths, preferences, needs and goals.
Assist individuals with identifying career interests and employment preferences.
Support job searching, applications, résumé development, interview preparation, and employer outreach.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with local employers.
Complete job analyses and task analyses to identify duties, training needs and supports.
Provide on-the-job coaching and systematic instruction.
