Job summary

Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Community and School-Based Behavioral Health program in Hazleton. The role provides direct support to children and families in home, school, and community settings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field; two years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Two years of experience in mental health, behavioral health, child welfare, education, or a related human services setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and behavioral support services to children and families.
• Deliver services in community-based settings, including homes, schools, and other natural environments.
• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the clinical team.
• Support children and families in developing skills that improve daily functioning and emotional wellness.
• Coordinate with schools, community resources, caregivers, and treatment providers.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
• Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure services are effective, medically necessary, and responsive to client needs.

Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Community and School-Based Behavioral Health team. This position offers the opportunity to provide direct support to children and families in the environments where they live, learn, and grow.

As a BHT, you will deliver therapeutic and case management services in community-based settings such as homes, schools, community centers, churches, and other natural environments. Working alongside a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will help children and families build skills, overcome challenges, and achieve meaningful goals while promoting emotional, behavioral, and social well‑well.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Counseling, Education, or a related human services field.

Preferred

• Two years of experience working in mental health, behavioral health, child welfare, education, or a related human services setting.

Salary starting at $33,000, to $39,500 per year ( $19 / hour equivalent) $2500 additional for bilingual candidates

This position requires the successful completion of an FBI Clearance, PA Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance.
