Job summary

First Interstate in Omaha, NE seeks a Community Banker to deliver personalized client service and manage a range of banking products. You will engage clients to determine needs, open accounts, process loans, and document referrals across lines of business.

This role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and proactive outreach. With 1–3 years of banking experience, you will handle teller duties as needed and contribute to financial education efforts in the community.

Qualifications

• Possesses working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft programs, and strong 10-key skills.

• Able to write simple correspondence.
• Able to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone by answering questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
• Opens and maintains a variety of products, including consumer and business checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and consumer and small business credit cards.
• Holds financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Processes new consumer loan requests; may also engage in conversations or process new small business loan requests.
• Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business and documents referrals and client activity.
• Builds client relationships through outbound outreach and proactive engagement.
• Performs Teller duties as needed, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and currency counting.
• Completes work accurately with minimal errors.
• Stays current on regulatory changes and complies with bank regulations and policies.
