Job summary

The City of Burlington, NC seeks a Community Support Supervisor for the Animal Services Department. You will lead a team handling animal welfare, intake, adoptions, and community programs at the Pet Adoption and Resource Center.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, strong communication, and knowledge of animal welfare. The schedule is typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some Saturday shifts and occasional evenings; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 1 year of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of work experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Fear Free Certification required or to be obtained within first six months.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, schedules, and evaluates staff.
• Oversees customer service and animal intake processes.
• Coordinates with volunteers and partner agencies.
• Maintains records in Chameleon and prepares reports.
• Manages field service scheduling and virtual appointments.
• Assists with deposits, fees, and financial reporting.
• Ensures compliance with laws and department procedures.
