Job summary

STRIVE is seeking a Vocational Direct Support Professional in Grand Junction, CO to provide community and job supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role centers on community access and organizing events, with evenings Tue-Fri and Saturdays around events.

The position requires QMAP certification, medication administration, and strong safety awareness. Drivers license preferred, with a 40-hour work week and compensation of $17.85 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must maintain QMAP certification and assist individuals with medications.
• Ability to provide medical care/treatment per plans and procedures.
• Strong emergency response skills for medical and safety incidents.
• Able to train individuals and support their job tasks in the community.
• Excellent communication with team and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and supervise treatments per policies.
• Ensure timely medical care and follow medical orders.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and coordinate with supervisors.
• Provide job training and support to individuals in community settings.
• Ensure contract expectations and service standards are met.
• Manage equipment, supplies, and routine maintenance.
• Document emergencies and safety practices accurately.
• Support day habilitation activities to promote independence.
• Assist in ISSP development and monitoring of progress.
• Support behavioural and safety plans as required.
• Supervise assigned individuals and coordinate transportation.
• Provide staff training and onboarding for floats/relief staff.
• Maintain open communication with STRIVE contract designee and partners.
• Report facility issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Handle transportation duties and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
