Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) is seeking a Content and Accessibility Coordinator in St. Paul, MN. You will develop and coordinate content strategies, edit digital and print materials, and ensure accessibility compliance across channels.
You will collaborate with TRA staff, vendors, and partners to align content with editorial standards, ADA/WCAG guidelines, and brand voice, while managing competing priorities and timelines. This role requires in-person work with up to 10% travel.

Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) has been administering pension coverage to Minnesota educators for decades, with a mission to help members and their beneficiaries plan for an independent and financially secure retirement. We are currently seeking job candidates who are strong writers and have solid editorial and grammarian skills to serve as our organization’s Content and Accessibility Coordinator.
Our Content and Accessibility Coordinator position exists to develop, plan, implement, and coordinate content writing and accessibility strategies, procedures, and activities for TRA to ensure stakeholders are well informed. The incumbent hired into this role applies TRA brand and editorial standards, communication strategies, principles, practices, laws, and rules to write and edit both digital and print communications content, including content for correspondence, websites, forms, publications, letters, and marketing materials. The incumbent will serve as the agency’s digital accessibility coordinator and analyzes digital accessibility requirements and coordinates the integration of accessibility improvements into TRA communications. Additionally, the incumbent will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including all TRA staff, third-party vendors, consultants, and other collaborative partners in supporting TRA’s communication and digital strategy.
This position is located in our St. Paul, Minnesota office and will require the incumbent to work a schedule that includes in-person work. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time for this role.
Three (3) years of progressive organizational communication experience in developing printed and digital publications; creating web content; conceptualizing, writing, and editing copy; and/or implementing digital accessibility standards.
A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field can substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Successful candidates must also possess the ability to secure their own transportation for in-state business travel and/or conferences. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time for this role.
An advanced degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
Experience working in the financial services industry, for a nonprofit organization, and/or with a public pension organization.
Experience developing comprehensive communication campaigns and creating cohesive digital and/or print assets across various channels (web, email, print, social media).
Hands-on experience using industry-leading assistive technologies such as JAWS, VoiceOver, ZoomText, and/or other equivalent software/tools.
Experience working with photography, videography, and/or advanced multimedia asset creation.
This position requires occasional transporting of articles such as file folders, ledgers and/or small tools. May be required to move or maintain a stationary position for long periods of time.
