Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis seeks a dedicated dispatcher to support patient and physician communications. You will answer incoming calls, connect lines, page physicians, and assist families and staff with information and referrals in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Telephone or customer service experience beneficial.
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls and connect calls for physicians and staff.
• Page physicians and provide patient information as needed.
• Assist with class registrations and physician referrals.
• May serve as Dispatcher for Safety, Security, and Maintenance as needed.

Under general supervision, answer all incoming calls; connect all incoming and outgoing calls; page physicians; obtain long distance information and place calls for physicians, personnel and families; provide patient information. Receive class registration & physician referral calls. May serve as Dispatcher for Safety and Security, Maintenance Departments, and other offsite locations.

Experience: Telephone or customer service experience beneficial.
