Job summary

The City of Springfield is seeking a Communications Coordinator to manage the City’s digital presence and craft content that informs, engages, and connects residents with services and initiatives that impact their community.

You will develop and execute social media strategies, create and publish content, and ensure a consistent, on-brand online voice while using analytics to improve engagement. This is a public-service role focused on storytelling and community connection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • One year of responsible work experience in electronic and print media.

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, schedule, and publish content across assigned platforms.

  • Support communications at City events, news conferences, town meetings, and other community activities.
  • Stay current on social media, digital communications, graphic design, and public engagement trends.

The City of Springfield’s Department of Public Information and Civic Engagement is looking for a creative, strategic Communications Coordinator to help shape how our community connects with the City.

In this role, you’ll manage the City’s digital presence across assigned social media platforms and create content that informs, engages, and connects residents with the services, people, and initiatives that impact their community.

Experience, Education, and Training
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field;
  • One year of responsible work experience in electronic and print media.
Licensing/Certification
