$40.00/hr - $47.00/hr

Are you an experienced Communication Consultant with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you! Our client is seeking an experienced Communication Consultant to work at their company in Newark, NJ.

Position Summary: This position supports the Client's Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES) business group, implementing the Client's Clean Energy Future programs. The role involves providing strategic communications to achieve the RES group's business objectives by collaborating with internal teams to develop creative, thoughtful, and impactful communications for both internal and external audiences.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Drafting and preparing communication materials such as articles, press releases, statements, briefing documents, internal communications, and presentations.
• Supporting leaders at events and during media interviews.
• Pitching and securing media opportunities, and responding to media inquiries.
• Preparing external and internal presentations for speakers.
• Building relationships with clients, including senior executives and technical staff, and leveraging those relationships to ensure effective delivery of communication products.
• Partnering with the Client's web and creative services staff and outside marketing agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; prefer major in Communications, English, Journalism, or Business.
• 6 – 8 years of experience in public relations and communications.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a demonstrated ability to tell stories with a journalistic approach.
• Media relations experience, including developing storylines and pitching reporters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint.
• Experience in developing and managing internal communications.
• Understanding of social media and its application to business communications.
• Project management skills and strategic thinking abilities.
• Capacity to quickly adapt to changing priorities, projects, and deadlines.
• Experience working with clients, customers, partners, and outside vendors and agencies.
• Analytical skills and proven ability to be innovative and creative.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with creative processes and design capabilities.
• Marketing skills and mindset are a plus.
• Someone who is a good storyteller, can interview internal people, and has great interpersonal skills.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and good design capabilities.
• Experience with putting together newsletters (both external and internal).
• Media relations capabilities: ability to write/support edit of press releases and understanding of media relations mechanics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience is required.
• Likely 2 rounds of interviews (starting with Zoom video, possibly on-site for the 2nd interview).
• 60% external, 40% internal communication.
