Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a Communications and Network Technician to manage systems for the U.S. Coast Guard's C5I Service Center.

Responsibilities
  • Install, plan, monitor, and test telecommunications and network systems, including fiber and backbone implementation; develop testing and diagnostic software; troubleshoot telecommunications and networks.
  • Complete tasks within estimated timeframes and budgets, schedule and assign duties, and enforce work standards.
  • Coordinate with clients and Program Managers to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as task lead when required.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond manuals, such as circuit analysis, electromagnetic evaluation, and signal flow tracing, using complex test instruments.
  • Work involves understanding circuit interrelationships, exercising independent judgment, and providing technical guidance to lower technicians.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma and certification from an accredited community or technical college in fiber and data cabling, with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred
  • Active Secret clearance.
