This is a remote/rotational position, working three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose

This is a remote/rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

The Down Hole Diagnostics (DHD) Technician performs wellhead and down hole testing, working with all facets of the Greater Prudhoe Bay operating area to provide well evaluations through testing procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assist other Technicians with DHD tasks including tubing integrity fluid level testing, mechanical integrity testing, fluid level surveys, arctic pack de-pressure, well bleeding of gas and fluid, and outer annulus re-pressurization testing.
  2. Research the well history of above jobs and learn to read well bore schematics.
  3. Perform well monitoring.
  4. Perform bleeding operations.
  5. Perform Tubing Integrity Fluid Level Surveys (TIFL’s).
  6. Perform functions including: Mechanical Integrity Tests (MIT’s), Combination Integrity Tests (CIT’s), No-Flow Tests (NFT), Liquid Leak Rate Test (LLRT).
  7. Safely climb ladders of various heights.

  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Capable of learning various DHD procedures.
  • Ability to drive in adverse weather or road conditions.
  • Ability to operate a Box Van.
  • Ability to tow trailers used in DHD activities.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work at heights.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, where medical evacuation may be delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands include:

  • Standing, walking on level, uneven, and slippery surfaces; sitting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, reaching, working overhead, maintaining balance and coordination.
  • Standing for prolonged periods.
  • Driving for extended periods in dark and inclement weather.
  • Climbing scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and fixed ladders of 20 feet or more.
  • Wearing and utilizing fall protection as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Lifting 50 lbs from floor to waist or shoulder.
  • Carrying 50 lbs for 15 feet.
  • Pushing/pulling 60 lbs sled for 20 feet and 90 lbs cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to acquire a Class A CDL with tanker and hazardous endorsements within 6 months and to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
  • Six months of petrochemical, oilfield, or arctic experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification or willingness to obtain it.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Class A CDL with tanker, hazmat endorsement, and DOT medical card.
  • One year of field experience in DHD.
  • Experience with IBM, PC, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems (e.g., CMMS).
