What You Will Do
As a Communications Administrative Coordinator, you will provide a wide range of content, project, and administrative support to the SCDOR Communications & Strategic Solutions division. Our team works to inform and build trust with employees, the public, and other stakeholders by publishing articles and videos, reviewing forms and notices, managing the agency's award-winning intranet, and more.
Primary Job Duties Include
- Drafting and editing articles, emails, guides, presentations, and other content
- Coordinating, reviewing, and publishing employee-facing communications, including updating the employee intranet
- Managing the division's online collaboration tools, including project management tracking tools and document libraries
- Identifying and implementing process and system improvements
- Monitoring the division email account, responding to emails, assigning requests, and following up on emails as needed
- Conducting research for special projects, preparing findings to assist leadership with decision making
- Providing administrative support to the division, including holding the division purchasing card, serving as liaison with Human Resources, and scheduling meetings and taking minutes
Either
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services OR
- A bachelor's degree
Additional Requirements
- May occasionally require non-regular working hours for emergencies or special projects
- May occasionally require travel to other SCDOR offices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in editing and writing
- Knowledge of communication principles and practices
- Knowledge of Plain Language, AP Style, and Smart Brevity
- Experience with SharePoint
- Experience with project management tools and programs

- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDOR.
