The State of South Carolina's Division of Economic Development is seeking a disciplined process administrator to support readySC and retrainSC initiatives. Under the Senior Project Controls and Administrative Manager, you will help administer, maintain, and continually improve division processes, provide program assistance, and coordinate with ITS and division staff.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

The Division of Economic Development is responsible for the statewide delivery of readySC and retrainSC, two key programs that support economic development across South Carolina. The Division also coordinates the Chief Continuing Education Officers and other workforce development initiatives. The purpose of this position is to serve as a process administrator, with oversight and direction from senior leadership, responsible for supporting the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of division processes. This role provides program assistance, recommends process improvements, and offers technical and administrative support for program operations, workforce development projects, and executive decision-making. The position supports the personnel, resources, and processes needed to deliver a broad range of program and project support functions essential to the operation of the Division and the successful implementation of readySC projects, retrainSC programs, and other workforce initiatives throughout the state. The role also collaborates with senior management and division staff on process improvement efforts; assists with the development and implementation of program guidelines, policies, and procedures; and works closely with Information Technology Services (ITS), under the direction of the Senior Project Controls and Administrative Manager, to promote clear communication and mutually beneficial outcomes. Additionally, this position supports and coordinates activities that strengthen and advance the brands of SCTCS, the Economic Development Division, readySC, retrainSC, and Special Projects.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. Incumbent must have strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills (both oral and written) and be able to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Must be flexible, innovative, and creative, and perform duties with sensitivity and confidentiality. Direct and lead the planning and execution of select projects and must be able to work with people at all levels. Able to research and assess subjects relevant to economic development, make presentations, and make informed recommendations for action. Incumbent should help to ensure effective relationships and communications within Division of Economic Development and promote collaboration between Division and the Technical Colleges as well as relevant community and economic development entities. Effectively apply knowledge and experience with data software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI with the ability to become proficient in all essential business systems and applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Salesforce, JobAps, SharePoint, Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)).
