Make a Lasting Impact

At The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD), we provide transformative, person-centered education and services for deaf and/or disabled individuals in a language-rich, inclusive setting. We envision a world where Deaf and disabled individuals, their families, and communities thrive with dignity, purpose, and joy.

We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and highly organized Communications Coordinator to help tell our story, strengthen community engagement, and advance our mission through strategic communications, marketing, fundraising support, and digital engagement.

Your Impact

Working in partnership with the Director of Advancement and Executive Director, the Communications Coordinator develops and implements communication, marketing, and community engagement strategies that strengthen CCCBSD's visibility, support fundraising efforts, and connect with families, donors, alumni, community partners, and the broader public.

As the organization’s primary communications professional, you'll partner across departments to create compelling, accessible, and culturally responsive communications that showcase the impact of our students, programs, and mission.

No two days are exactly alike. One day you may be photographing a student event, the next creating communications for a fundraising campaign, updating the website, supporting an alumni gathering, or collaborating with school leaders to share the incredible work happening across our campus.

Schedule: This position generally follows a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for fundraising events, school activities, conferences, and community engagement. CCCBSD values work-life balance and is open to discussing scheduling options, including a school-year schedule with additional workdays or a comparable year-round schedule based on organizational needs and the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that support CCCBSD's mission, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.
  • Create compelling written, visual, photographic, video, and digital content for families, donors, alumni, board members, and the broader community.
  • Manage CCCBSD's website, social media platforms, newsletters, email communications, and editorial calendars.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, accessibility, and culturally responsive communication across all platforms.
  • Capture school events, classroom activities, and community engagement through photography, video, and storytelling.
  • Coordinate communication plans and promotional materials for fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, special events, conferences, and community outreach.
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement on donor communications, annual reports, stewardship initiatives, and marketing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic social media and content calendars while monitoring engagement analytics.
  • Collaborate across departments to gather stories, photos, and content that celebrate student success and organizational impact.
  • Coordinate website updates, email marketing campaigns, conference materials, brochures, advertisements, and promotional collateral.
  • Build meaningful relationships with families, alumni, donors, volunteers, community organizations, and professional partners.
  • Represent CCCBSD at internal and external events in a professional, mission-driven manner.
