General Summary

The Laborer is responsible for supporting concrete crews by preparing and maintaining construction projects at demolition, building, highway, and heavy construction sites.

This project offers an On the Job Training Program (OJT). THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT HOBBY AIRPORT IN HOUSTON, TEXAS.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines
• Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks forms
• Signal equipment operators for alignment and movement
• Level earth to grade specifications using hand tools
• Mix concrete with portable mixers
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete
• Join, seal, and position pipe sections
• Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces
• Perform tasks using hands and tools, such as sawing and dismantling forms

Work Experience

• Construction experience required; heavy construction preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Workers should be able to follow instructions, perform varied duties, work accurately, and evaluate information. Must work safely outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for long periods
• Handle objects with arms and hands
• Lift and carry 50-100 pounds
• Climb ladders, scaffolds, and carry tools
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and see clearly
