Genesis10 is currently seeking a Commodity Manager for a hybrid position with a Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer located in Oak Brook, IL. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.
Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
This role is part of a high-demanding and high-performing team, seeking a self-starter who can hit the ground running. The Commodity Manager will handle all tasks up to contract signature, including data analysis, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, and reporting. The position requires a background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably at a global level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data science and data analytics, resourcing actions, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, reporting, and payment resolutions
• Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
• Collaborate with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, and components
• Ensure suppliers can meet forecasted demand
• Coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establish costs for new products
• Participate in design and/or technical reviews
• Select, recommend and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors
• Read and understand blueprints and specifications

Primary Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience with a specific commodity (8-12 years preferred)
• Mandatory experience with SAP and advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros)
• Background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications
• Logistical knowledge
• Able to perform a technical review and quality of product review

Desired Skills:

• Experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing at a global level
