My client, a global leading manufacturing company near Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Commodity Manager to join their dynamic team.

Position Title: Commodity Manager

Location: Near Bolingbrook, IL

Role Overview:

This position leads material cost optimization and supplier relationship management for assigned commodities, focusing on cost reduction and strategic sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive cost-saving initiatives for assigned materials and recommend value-added alternatives.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring effective contractual agreements.
• Monitor market trends and identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate on make vs. buy decisions and cross-functional cost-reduction projects.
• Manage risk mitigation projects and oversee warranty recovery for assigned materials.
• Support engineering with purchasing aspects of product changes, including cost negotiations.
• Maintain pricing agreements, resolve invoice discrepancies, and manage price variances.
• Ensure timely material supply to production facilities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of procurement experience.
• Strong negotiation and organizational skills.
• Automotive manufacturing or transportation experience required.
• Experience procuring metals, plastics, or automotive parts.

**This position is onsite 5 days per week. Remote or hybrid are not offered.
